About the book
Conceptual Foundations of Āyurveda – Bālaroga presents a systematic exploration of the theoretical and clinical framework of Kaumārbhṛtya, the classical discipline of Ayurvedic pediatrics. The volume revisits foundational concepts such as Bāla Avasthā, developmental Agni and Dhātu Pāka, Bāla Bala, Ojas, and Vyādhikṣamatva, while examining Garbha, Navajāta, and Stanya-based principles of early-life care. It further elaborates disease classifications including Sahaja Vyādhi, Janmabala and Doṣabala Pravṛtta Vyādhi, Aupasargika Bālaroga, Graha Roga, and classical nutritional disorders such as Phakka and Bāla Śoṣa, alongside srotas-wise understanding of pediatric pathology. Core Cikitsā Siddhānta including Mātrā Nirṇaya, Śodhana–Śamana, Rasāyana, and Lehana Kalpanā are discussed with clinical applicability. By integrating classical doctrines with contemporary pediatric perspectives, this volume aims to provide a strong conceptual and practical foundation for students, academicians, and practitioners of Kaumārbhṛtya.
