About the book

Conceptual Foundations of Ayurveda – Kāyacikitsā presents a systematic exploration of the theoretical and clinical framework of Kāyacikitsā, the core discipline of Ayurvedic internal medicine. The volume revisits fundamental principles such as Doṣa, Āma, Agni, Bala, Dhātu, and Khavaiguṇya, and elaborates on the conceptual understanding of Vyādhi, its classifications, and pathogenetic mechanisms. It further examines classical Cikitsā Siddhānta and Upakrama, including Śodhana, Śamana, and applied therapeutic strategies, while integrating perspectives on Āhāra, Auṣadha, Satmya, and Manas in disease manifestation and management. By bridging classical doctrines with contemporary research trends, this edited work aims to provide a strong conceptual and clinical foundation for scholars, practitioners, and postgraduate students of Ayurveda.
